About the art & artist

My visual work began with my foundations in the art of movement. I started dancing at the age of 6, and ballet classes and performances became a big part of my world as a young artist. But my formal exploration in painting developed much later on as a teenager.
Taking my love for movement from the dance studio to the art studio was a key intersection. In my early days of painting, I struggled with portraiture. It was with figure drawing and bodies that my work really began to sing. I began to explore self-portraiture through figure drawing and capturing movement on a canvas.
I always return to these roots of movement and dance.
